Christopher is a performer/composer/improviser who continues to garner popular and critical acclaim in 28 countries on 5 continents for his performances and original compositions for indigenous breath and percussion instruments of Mesoamerica/Mexico and India alongside either classical guitar, marimba, pedal harp, piano, violin, woodwind quintet and/or mixed chamber ensemble.
He attended CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS on a full scholarship to study the drumming of North India with Pandit Taranath Rao, John Bergamo, Leonice Shinneman, and Swapan Chaudhuri as well as 20th century western music involving percussion and chamber music including marimba and multiple percussion performances. He continues to be a frequently invited as a guest soloist to perform with chamber and symphonic orchestras throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas with instruments not usually associated with “western classical music”,including North Indian tabla, South Indian kanjira and ghatam, and Tlapan huehuetl, teponaztli, huilacapiztli, atecocolli and more on 5 continents, 28 countries and 47 states.
